A blog is a website where we can post about ourself and these are made in journal style and displayed in a reverse chronological order so that instead of a writtin diary, my newest post will be first and vice versa for a writtin diary so it's easier to view my lastest post. Blogging has increased over the years because more and more people want to give their opinion on something that is discussed. A blog post is my article that I have posted so that people can share their opinions on the topic.
My personal opinion of a blog is that it's a very good way to get your views and opinions across and also very easy to setup within a fair few minutes. Blogs are a great way of getting information around especially the news side of things because something could have happened and the person who is posting the information could have seen this evidence first hand and could have a better explanation of what happened and would be much quicker to update rather than a newspaper or the news on television.
The advantages of using a blog are that if you're posting news then many more people can find out more information sooner than reading a newspaper or watching the news as it could be instant from after an event happeneing and you only have a limited space or time on the news and newspapers so you may not recieve all the information you need where as on a blog you could post asking for something specific and the blog starter you reply within seconds of your reply. You could also become famous from making some blogs that could maybe change something dramatically and then being known by alot of people and then the word would be spread but it's highly unlikely this could happen as thousands of people are blogging these days.
The disadvantages and dangers are that you could be discriminated for posting something that others may be against or severely punished if you are located in a country it doesn't allow freedom of speech. You could also make up lies about someone and then that someone could come and check your post and sue you for making a false accusation and can be proved by checking the IP address.
